IMPROV NIGHT -

A Comedy

November 17, 2017 7:00 PM

Improvisational theater, or improv, consists of a comedic, poignant, or dramatic stage performance, usually with a wide cast of actors and actresses. These actors and actresses will use spontaneous acting techniques, including audience suggestions to contribute to the performance's content and direction. In other words, the cast erratically formulates the dialogue, setting, and plot without a formal rehearsal. Improvisation performers must incorporate a wide array of skills, including listening and maintaining conscious awareness of other actors and actresses on stage. It requires a sense of spontaneity, instinctive, and social comprehension to improvise without a script. In fact, improvisational theater has attracted many people across all walks of life for improvement in personal and interpersonal development.

ALIBIS-

A Murder Mystery Comedy

October 20, 2016 6:00 PM

Alibis by Peter Kennedy is a murder mystery comedy.  Who dunit. How dunit.  When famous actress Primavera Donna throws a party and ends up dead, its up to her guests to figure out who did it and how, and why the hired help is so annoying.  Shades of Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, and Ten Little Indians.  As the storm outside rages and the body count mounts, the guests must deal with interruptions, shocking revelations, tacky special effects and the arrival of a mysterious guest. Both the action and the dialogue are fast paced and the surprising conclusion leaves only one conclusion.  Who gets the movie rights?  The cast consists of the stuffy butler, a social butterfly, a playboy, a dotty chemist, an aristocrat of dubious origin, a nun who has taken a vow of silence, a part-time detective, a very French maid, and a mysterious stranger.

It's going to be a fun day.

THE NIGHT of ONE ACTS

February 12, 2016 at 6:00 PM

Three Fractured Pigs

It seems to be a trational telling of The Three Little Pigs, three pigs, three houses, one big, bad wolf. At least that's the intent of the first narrator. But the second narrator seems to be getting his stories confused and it isn't long before this story is completely out of whack.  Will the narrators be able to get the story back on track?

The Education of Janet O'Malley

Even the best of students can relate to Janet O'Malley's lament: "Why do I have to know all the stuff they are teaching in school? Do I really need it?"  In this hilarous comedy, Jane gets her answer.

Really Bad Advice

Tired of people dishing out unasked advice? High school student Carissa wants a career in journalism, but for now she gets the unwanted assignment of writing the advice column at her student newspaper. With hopes of being booted out of this job, she decides to offer students the absolute worst advice possible. Is she prepared for what lies ahead?
